Hundreds of people participated in ICNA Canada Family Day Event

The Islamic Circle of North America – Canada Peel chapter has exceed last year’s standard of more than $50,000 for the Credit Valley Hospital at today’s second annual Family Day Walkathon at City Hall. Hundreds of people participated in the gathering, which consisted of a one-hour walk around City Centre and a ceremony inside City Hall. Participants walked along Duke of York Blvd., Burnhamthorpe Rd., Confederation Parkway and Rathburn Rd to create awareness about Family Values and raise funds for Credit Valley Hospital.

The event helped support the Credit Valley Hospital Foundation and its $45-million Lifetime of Care campaign, the hospital’s attempt to build a new 270,000-square foot facility that will house obstetrics, labour and delivery, surgical oncology, palliative care and additional operating rooms among other aspects..
